South Korea ambassador for Italy, Seong-Ho Lee, was in Puglia to learn more about the current aerospace activities in the region. This was an opportunity to meet the president of the DTA, Giuseppe Acierno, to visit the DTA , the Grottaglie Airport and the Sitael establishment in Mola di Bari.
The president of the DTA referred to the most important research and technology transfer projects that are underway or have an operational base at the Grottaglie airport. He also highlighted the collaboration developed with the Municipality of Bari on projects relating to the control of the territory with the use of drones and to the prospects connected to Urban air mobility (Uam) to ensure in the near future the flight of air taxis and the use of unmanned cars.
Finally, he presented the activities carried out by the DTA thanks to the ESA Global space economic workshop GSEW), the Mediterranean aerospace matching (Mam) and the Drones Beyond.
The meeting was attended by: Carmela Tripaldi, Head of Research and Development for New Technologies and Aerospace at ENAC; Patrizio Summa, director of special projects at AdP.
Finally, Ambassador Seong-Ho Lee visited the laboratories of the Aerospace Technology District located at the Grottaglie airport, and he was really impressed by the civil protection activities.
