Bari hosts the opening conference of the SOFTMOVE project: ‘U-Space & UAS: Challenges and Opportunities in the IPA Area’

On 29 May, the opening conference of the SOFTMOVE project, entitled ‘U-Space & UAS: Challenges and Opportunities in the IPA Area’, will be held in Bari. The event will take place at the University of Bari Campus, in the Multimedia Room of the Interateneo Department of Physics, M. Merlin, on the first floor.

The SOFTMOVE project, ‘Innovation Opportunities For Sustainable and Smart Mobility Operations with unmanned Air VehiclEs and space assets’, aims to revolutionise the integration of drone technologies in cities and promote innovative solutions for sustainable mobility. The Aerospace Technology District (DTA) is the lead partner in the project, which is being led by NVU Digital Den, a startup incubator based in Montenegro, and ASIG, the Albanian State Authority for Geospatial Information.

The event will bring together experts, professionals, policy makers, practitioners, students, researchers and enthusiasts from academia, research centres and the drone industry in the IPA area. Innovative aerial services will be presented during the conference, with a special focus on the role of the Grottaglie Airport Test Bed (GATB) and the ESA BIC Brindisi incubator in the development of the drone industry in the region.

Testimonials from academia and industry will offer contributions on the advances and applications of unmanned aerial systems and innovative air services, promoting innovation beyond national borders.
