Objectives
Objective of the research project
Apulia Space aims to develop enabling technologies in the space segment by addressing a wide range of issues, from the exploration of the Universe to Earth Observation (OT), to the reception and management systems of remote sensing data, to end with awareness-raising activities for use of space systems by regional users.Objectives of the training project
Prepare 10 young graduates for the use of enabling technologies in the space sector.Activities and results
Enabling Technologies for the Space Segment
Development of new prototypes of:
- sensors for the OT and for the exploration of the Universe;
- electric and unconventional propulsion systems;
- numerical codes for the (re) entry of spacecraft and for the study of debris;
- Hardware and Software modules for on-board data processing.
Enabling Technologies for the Ground Segment
- Implementation of modules of a ground-based technological infrastructure aimed both at acquiring, processing and managing satellite data, and at providing end users with the necessary tools to support their operational and decision-making activities and for applications of environmental monitoring, territorial planning, safety of citizens and for the management of data acquired by scientific missions.
Enabling Technologies for the User Segment
Awareness raising actions towards regional users aimed at:
- disseminate the potential of satellite data;
- deepen the knowledge of space technologies as useful tools to support operational and decision-making activities.
