SpaceWave
SpaceWave will constitute a pilot for the acceleration of EO for Blue Growth.
The high-level objectives of SpaceWave are
- To study the international markets of downstream EO in Blue Growth.
- To identify European and international stakeholders and analyse the related value chains.
- To draft an internationalization plan in order to reach Europe’s full potential in downstream Earth Observation in Blue Growth.
Results expected
SpaceWave will constitute a pilot for the acceleration of EO for Blue Growth, in particular for the CMEMS, which can be replicated at a larger scale to include other European clusters and their members, notably SMEs users of CMEMS.
Sectoral Industries: Information Technology and Analytical Instruments
Technology Fields: Electronics, IT and Telecomms › Telecommunications, Networking › Satellite Technology/Positioning/Communication in GPS
S3 EU priority areas: Aeronautics & Space › Space
Emerging industries: Blue Growth Industries
Partnership other activities
The SpaceWave consortium plans to study the international markets and trends in the Blue Growth Economy in particular: explore Blue Growth market trends; extract, within these trends, sectoral challenges where Earth observation data could provide value-added solutions for Blue Growth; identify the current and future commercial and technological potential of Earth Observation technologies in selected sectoral challenges and define the most promising; and identify clusters and business network in targeted countries.
The SpaceWave consortium will then define a portfolio of value chains that can serve the priority markets identified previously. These will be used in two ways: first to identify key EO assets and capabilities that form part of these value chains; and second to identify key users and actors that should be targeted in the implementation.
The SpaceWave partners will then develop a Partnership Agreement, an Internationalisation Strategy Plan and an Implementation Roadmap. Finally, it is planned to organise the communication and dissemination strategy of the project. This will be done through the setting up of branding and marketing tools along with the selection of stakeholders (private business entities, associations, public authorities, etc.) that will be informed about the SpaceWave project and its results.
