Innovative Aeronautical Supporting Structures
Objectives of the research project
Investigate structural solutions (both from a design and manufacturing point of view) to be applied to the tail and tail of a regional aircraft. The goal will be achieved starting from the material properties and using a scale up approach, which will affect design and manufacturing.
The goal is to improve the performance of the production process from a SMART FACTORY perspective.
Objectives of the training project
To train designers of composite aeronautical structures made with innovative production processes.
- development of an innovative configuration for a well-finished multi-spar box
- development and validation of vertical stabilizer panels with liquid infusion technology
- development of a database of innovative repair techniques
- design, development and validation of mobile surfaces with innovative methods
- development and validation of a panel obtained by automatic fiber deposition
- demonstrators
- weight reduction – increase in component quality
- reduction of the environmental impact of the production process – reduction of production costs
