President and general manager
Graduated in Law, with a Master’s Course in Diplomatic Studies and several certificate abroad during his career has held numerous public and management positions in important Italian companies and institution. He has been the first president of the National Aerospace Technology Cluster, Chief Executive Officer of the Apulian Airports, member of the Board of Directors of ENAV S.p.A., enterpreuner in the aerospace field, director of strategies and external relation of the Scientific Park PASTIS CNRSM. He has manged numerous R&D projects and post degree master.
Management and administration area
Graduated in computer science, she has over 30 years of experience in design, implementation and management of research, innovation, technology transfer and training projects both at national (MIUR, MISE, MAE, Puglia Region) and European (7FP, H2020, Interreg, Equal, etc.) level. As Project Manager of DTA since 2011, she has directed numerous post-graduate masters and coordinated research projects in the aerospace field.
Carmelo Fortunato deals with the management of Human Resources. His task is to research, select and place the best resources in the company. He manages the company’s workers, from hiring to the end of the employment relationship, taking care of their training, career advancement and contractual aspects of work performance (hours, permits, etc.). He is also Quality Manager ISO 9001-2015, EN 9100 in which he deals with the development of the procedures necessary to control the production flow and supervises the achievement of quality standards.
Graduated in economics, qualified to practice as a chartered accountant. You attended the Professional master’s degree in administration, finance and management control at Aforisma Lecce, teacher at secondary schools of applied mathematics and business economics, close to obtaining a master’s degree in management engineering. You have worked in the administrative and accounting field in metalworking and consultancy companies, in DTA you deal with accounting, especially cost accounting and administration.
Lawyer, she deals with the management and reporting of Training, Research and Development projects since 2002. She has held the role of Head of physical and financial monitoring activities in various activities financed for numerous public entities and important companies. Consultant of the DTA since 2010, he deals with national and international contracts and the reporting of funded projects, coordinating various partnerships.
Degree in Physics, participated, as technology developer and project manager, in several national and international research and innovation projects (FP7, H2020, ESA and GSA/EUSPA programmes) on the domain of secure management of aeronautic supply chain, UAS development, UAS cyber vulnerabilities, UAV insertion into ATM, U-space services model, AAM/UAM services for smart cities and on space services for aviation. Beyond technological competences in the mentioned fields, he has a long experience in collaborating with international organizations and in the technological and scientific project management. DTA representative in EACP – European Aerospace Cluster Partnership and EDC – European Drone Cooperation.
Professional aerospace engineer with fifteen years of experience in research activities, technological maturity, and experimental demonstrators – from both theoretical and operative viewpoints. Since 2020 he has been working at DTA with duties in management of research projects. He was previously working experiences in big companies, SMEs and academia (PhD candidate and fellowships). Graduated from “Sapienza University of Rome”. ERASMUS Scholarship (1y) at the Technische Universiteit Delft.
Aerospace engineer. He graduated from the University of Salento with an experimental thesis at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Warsaw. He is the author of scientific publications and participates as a speaker at various scientific conferences in the field. He joined the Aerospace Technology District (DTA) as a Technology Developer in 2021, engaging in the DTA’s technology transfer processes. He is currently project manager of ESA BIC Brindisi, the Apulian node of the network of space startup incubators promoted by the European Space Agency.
A serial entrepreneur and a veteran of the Israeli Air Force’s unmanned aerial vehicle squadrons and the Israeli drone and UAS industry, where he managed R&D programs and led international business development campaigns. He is representing the DTA in Israel since 2019, in pursue for business and academic collaboration between Israelian and Apulian entities.
Aerospace engineer. He graduated from Bari Polytechnic University with an experimental thesis in the area of carbon fiber composite materials. Has operational skills on 3D solid modeling programs such as Solidworks and Autocad.
He occupies the position of flight test engineer in DTA.
Danilo Leanza was born in 1980. In 2005 he graduated as Telecommunication Engineer at Politecnico di Torino. For the next 3 years he worked at Motorola as System Engineer in the Mobile Device field. From 2009 to 2016 he worked at Alenia Aeronuatica as Avionics Test & Integration Systems Engineer in the definition and development of avionics test systems. Later, he worked on behalf of DTA at GE Avio as Testing and Simulator Facility & Software Verification Engineer in the development of the Turbo Propeller aircraft engine control unit (FADEC). Since 2021 he has been employed at the DTA headquarters in research projects in the aerospace sector.
Graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at Naples University “Federico II”- April 1979, Alessandro Cardi spent his life in civil aviation and concluded his career in ENAC on October 2020 as Vice Director General. With 40 years of experience, his main ability and focus is to act for proactively seeking out and pursuing opportunities for regulatory improvement, delivering practical and effective solutions with attitude to work with multidisciplinary and diverse workforce (public – private). Last leading projects managed are related to Suborbital Operations and Advanced Air Mobility.
Aerospace Engineer. After graduating from the Polytechnic University of Turin, he worked in the early years of his professional career in the field of hydrogen-air mixture combustion at the Petten research centre in the Netherlands. Through the SMEA project, he returned to Italy to work on structural monitoring of aeronautical components manufactured using additive manufacturing technologies and hydrogen-based/electric powertrains for general aviation.
My passion for space science led me to study astronomy. In the last 20 years, I have collaborated with space agencies, European institutions, industries, academia, science centres, and museums, and have gained considerable experience in scientific communication. Since 2015 I collaborate with the DTA and I am involved in differents tasks with a particular focus on the organisation of worksho and strategic events at regional, national and European level.
Graduated in Economics and Marketing, she obtained a Master in Communication. She’s a content marketing manager and carries out the activity of copywriting and management of social media. Within the DTA, he also has the task of carrying out secretarial activities at events, drafting the newsletter and updating the website.
