We are looking for a person who, as part of the technical team for the development of drone services, will be involved in activities involving the analysis of data collected by airborne sensors. The person will be involved in national and European project activities on several specific topics including the development of land monitoring services for agriculture, services for environmental monitoring. We intend to develop prototype environmental observation services by integrating satellite data and data collected by drone-mounted sensors and possibly other data from terrestrial sources.
 
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Physics.
 
Scientific knowledge of the Python language is required, as well as basic knowledge of ML and big data. Profiles with a three-year degree who can demonstrate specific laboratory or teaching experience (theses, projects, etc.) on the topics indicated may be evaluated.
 
Personal characteristics of analytical ability, passion for the sector, aptitude for problem solving and team working complete the profile.

    We are looking for a resource who, as part of the customer’s technical team, will be involved in structural, dynamic, static, linear and non-linear analyses of aeronautical components. He/she will be responsible for the optimisation and calculation of engine components, drafting reports, working in close contact with the mechanical design team.

      Position description

       

      DTA conducts collaborative research, development, and testing of UAS platforms and related technologies, U-space services, and innovative air services. The scope of the activity ranges from solution design, development (possibly with academic and industrial partners), test and test environment design, and test execution with experimental flights.

       

      We intend to expand the currently existing working group.

       

       

      Position in the organization chart

       

      The position is part of the research and experimentation operations group.

      Activities will be carried out by collaborating and participating in a close-knit and exciting team.

      Internal: the activity will be carried out within a close-knit and collaborative team, with phases of independent activities and phases of joint activities.

      External: research and experimentation is understood by DTA to be a collaborative activity and is in most cases carried out with university professors and researchers and industrial operators.

      The research carried out by DTA participates in the creation of innovative solutions that grow and advance the regional, national and European industrial system.

      The activities in which the new figure will be involved are:

      Analysis of use cases and preparation of technical and operational requirements, architectural design of systems and their implementation.

      Experimental activities may include aerial operations with drones, in which case the relevant aeronautical documentation will have to be prepared.

        We are looking for a figure who will have to carry out research and experimentation activities within a multidisciplinary team, among the various activities to be performed:

         

         

        1) participate in the management of ICT technology infrastructure (data center and network infrastructure), in particular manage the configuration of available systems and applications,

         

        2) participate in laboratory activities,

         

        3) participate in the design, preparation and conduct of experimental activities with drone (UAS),

         

        4) participate in the development of applications for the analysis of experimental data collected from aerial operations,

         

        5) participate actively in the conduct of experimental activities to be determined from time to time.

          Responsibilities:

          The RAMT Controls Engineer shall be responsible for performing the following tasks:

          • Establish, develop, and maintain a Reliability demonstration plan for the FADEC of the Avio Aero Catalyst Engine, adhering to regulatory, internal and customer requirements and standards
          • Develop the FADEC Failure Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis, Failure Catalogue, Failure Rates and Critical Failure Rates, SSA (System Safety Assessment), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and Common Cause Analysis, DAL Allocation for SW and CEH HW, following SAE ARP 4761 and SAE ARP 4754A guidelines
          • Perform the FADEC Time Limited Dispatch Analysis
          • Develop the Testability demonstration plan and failure simulation list, the testability analysis and the testability demonstration report
          • Support the Controls team in planning and executing its activities according to the development program Master Plan, participate to meeting and formal reviews with GE Avio CVE, RAMT System team, Customer and Certification Authorithies

          Qualifications / Requirements

          • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, automation technology or a comparable subject
          • Minimum 6 years of experience in system design in highly complex control systems in the industrial, automotive, medical or aerospace sectors
          • Ability to prepare failure mode and effect analysis (FEMA) and formulate mathematical models to identify units posing excessive failure risks, and recommends proposed design changes.
          • Ability to perform functional and signal point-to-point FMECA tasks to the subassembly level.

                  The Control Software Engineer will be responsible for the design and the development of control software, according to Model Based Design (MBD) methodology and to all the applicable regulations relevant to the airborne software certification process (i.e. DO-178C, DO-331). This includes, but is not limited to, managing software high level requirements and the requirements flow down, from system level to software levels. In this role, she/he will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

                  Essential Responsibilities

                  The Control Software Engineer is responsible to establish and execute software requirements and design standards, to establish and maintain the software high level requirements, to look after the requirements flow down from system to software level, to develop the software low level requirements and relevant design models, according to MBD methodology, to assist the software verification team in developing the test procedures and to define and lead analyses in support of the software design validation. The role includes responsibilities leading to the software requirements and design change management in liaison with the configuration control board stakeholders. Execute with limited guidance, the analysis, evaluation and delivery of assigned aircraft engine projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product /program requirements.

                  Activities include:

                  • Document and maintain software requirements and design standards
                  • Document and maintain high level software requirements to ensure complete coverage and traceability versus control system requirements

                    Roles and Responsibilities:

                     

                    The Electronic Design Engineer is responsible to support design solutions and implementation for components, complex electronic hardware, assemblies and subsystems of the Electrical System for both full authority-based (e.g. FADEC) and hybrid electric-based propulsion systems; to liaise with independent organization or suppliers to provide technical and programmatic guidance on components, complex assemblies and subsystems design, validation and technology accrual plan outlining and execution and to perform, with limited guidance, analysis and evaluation of the third parties’ deliverables compliance with product/program requirements and business standards, practices and procedures. Main responsibilities are:

                    • To develop and document electronic and electrical components, complex assemblies and subsystems requirements and designs relevant, but not limited to, electronic signal and control processing units and boards, based on complex electronics, for electrical power drives and engine actuation systems, engine sensors and accessories.
                    • To carry out trade-off and performance analysis and validation studies aiming at drawing the optimal electronic assembly/sub-assembly architectural solutions and detailed designs.
                    • To support testing and validation activities, based on technology accrual and product development plans, of electrical components, complex assemblies and subsystems, up to the final stages of the Control System integration, to assure the operational, environmental (including EMI/L) and functional requirements compliance with product/program requirements.
